Opening a Personal Savings Account

Required documents:

  1. One form of National Identification (see identification requirements at the bottom of the page)
  2. One utility bill in your name valid for six (6) months (Telephone, Electricity, Water, Cable and Internet)
  3. Recent payslip (valid one month) or a job letter (valid for three months and must be addressed to JMMB Bank).
  4. Minimum Opening Balance: $100.00

 VISA International Debit Card Fee (Classic) - TT$175

 Total minimum to open account (including VISA Debit Card) - TT$275

Opening an A+ Savings Account

This savings account is designed specifically for parents or guardians who would like to open an account for a child. Children who have started showing an interest in learning about money should also be encouraged to start saving. The initial deposit is $25 and the account can be opened for a child at any age from birth to 20 years of age.

Features include: 

  • No monthly fees
  • VISA International Classic Debit Card from age 16
  • 24-hour access via Online Banking, ATM and at check-out counters
  • Interest accrues on balances as low as $25

 

JMMB Bank A+ Savings Account Opening Requirements

  • Birth certificate
  • ID/ Passport of child
  • Parent/ guardian job letter (not older than 6 months) OR pay-slip (not older than 1 month) 
  • Proof of address: Bank statements on your name OR utility bill on your name (not older than 6 months), if the utility bill 
  • Please provide one of the following documents issued in your name: 
    • Bank Statement, OR

    • Utility Bill (dated within the last 6 months)

      If the utility bill is not in your name, you must also provide: 

    • A signed Authorization/ Permission Letter from the bill holder, and 

    • A copy of the bill holder's valid ID

      Please note: Mobile phone bills are not accepted. 

  • One form of identification for parent/ legal guardian (National ID card OR passport) 

  • For parent/ guardian: 

    Please provide the following: 

  • Authorization letter from the parent/ legal guardian
  • Copy of the Parent's Valid ID

  • All A+ required documents as listed above

    Please note that the child must be present for account opening if they are 7 years old or older.

Opening a JMMBTT Bank Personal Joint Account

Summary of documentation required:

  1. One form of National Identification (see identification requirements at bottom of page)
  2. One utility bill in your name valid for six (6) months (Telephone, Electricity, Water, Cable and Internet)**
  3. Recent payslip (valid one month) or a job letter (valid for three months and must be addressed to JMMB Bank)
  4. Minimum Opening Balance: $100.00

- Each account holder may also request a VISA International Debit Card at a cost of:

TT$175 (Classic)

TT$250 (Gold)

Note: These forms are required for each person joint on the account.

Identification Requirements

  • Valid Passport
  • Valid National Identification Card
  • Birth Certificate or any similar document*

*For individuals under the age of 17 years who may not possess any of the above items of identification, kindly present the individual’s Birth certificate along with a parent/guardian’s identification document.

  • In instances where a Drivers License has been presented which does not state your nationality, you would be required to provide another form of Identification such as your National ID, Passport or any other document that validates your nationality, for instance, your Birth Certificate

 

** In instances where the utility bill is not in your name, please bring in a signed authorization letter along with a copy of the owner's National ID.   

Opening a JMMBTT Bank Personal (Self Employed)

Self-employed persons will be required to submit the following for the opening of a JMMB savings account:

  1. One form of National Identification (see identification requirements at bottom of page)
  2. One utility bill in your name valid for six (6) months (Telephone, Electricity, Water)
  3. Certificate of Registration and/or Statement of Income & Expenditure
  4. Minimum Opening Amount Balance: $100

VISA International Debit Card Fee (Classic) - TT$175

Total minimum to open account (including VISA Card) - TT$275
